The following story is about a trip we took to Raleigh, NC. Some of the names were changed to protect the innocent. STUMPKNUCKLE would like to send out a very special thank you to Bobby Gregory and his family for their unselfishness in making this story have a happy ending. Also, we would like to thank Jon at the Home Depot in Raleigh for helping us like Bobby when no one else would. People like you all deserve the best in life and that's why if we ever make it big we will hunt you down and make your lives even better than they are now. That's a promise. The weekend was all going as planned and then we had the bright idea of going to the Crab Tree Mall. This is where things go crazy. We finally found the mall after going the wrong way about a million times on that stupid belt way system. We are sitting at the red light waiting to make a right turn into the Mall parking garage. The light turns green and I (TIM) turn left and making sure I don't hit the car next to us with the trailer I took the turn a little to sharp and the left trailer tire went up onto the curb. When the tire came off the curb, the axle broke and I watched our trailer tire roll down the street. Of course we stopped to check out the situation and there we were, with a million people watching as we picked up the tire and threw it in the back of the Exterra and drove off across the street to the Sheraton Hotel Parking lot. We had like ten foot sparks shooting out the back of the trailer and left huge gouges in the road all the way. If you goto the mall check em out. Anyway, there we are in the back of the Sheraton parking lot with a trailer with one wheel and a bunch of smoke emitting from the left wheel well. Both of the U-bolts were grinded off and we had no clue what to do...First we talked about all the possibilities. After about 10 minutes we decided that we needed to find someone that could weld our axle back together, then we would need to find some new u-bolts. We decided to leave Erin with the trailer so no one could steal all our equipment. Brian and I headed off on our mission to find u-bolts and a welder. Oh yeah, did I mention it's like 7:00 p.m. First we went to the Sheraton hotel and utilized their pay phones, to find what turned out to be the world's greatest welder Bobby Gregory. We called about a million different welders from the phone book and explained our situation and Bobby was the only one that would help us out. He showed up about 30 minutes later to check out the situation and see if he could even fix it. He came and said he could do it and that he would be back around 9:00 to fix it. In the meantime Brian and I decided to go find some u-bolts. We drove to Auto Zone, Advance Auto,Lowes, and Home Depot in search of the u-bolts. During the search it starting raining like I have never seen rain before... So there we are in unfamiliar territory going 70,80 plus so that we make back in time to meet Bobby. We finally had to make the u-bolts at Home Depot cuz none of the stores had the ones we needed. We met a guy named Jon that worked there and he gave us a vise and hack saw to make them. By the time we finished making the u-bolts it was already 9:00 and we had a long drive back to the Sheraton. So needless to say, we missed Bobby. By now, some of you may be wondering what Erin was doing the whole time. Remember we left him to watch the trailer at like 7 something and now here it is like 10 o'clock and it had been raining like crazy. We pulled up and Erin wasn't there. We thought maybe he went and got a room at the Sheraton so Brian and I went to the desk and checked to see. Well, he hadn't checked in so we went ahead and got the shittest room in the world for $90.00. We went back outside and parked the Exterra in front of the trailer so no one could get into it and steal our stuff and here comes Erin running across the highway. He had been in the mall for like three hours. Which turned out to be a good thing cuz the next day we went there and he knew where everything was located. So, we all headed to the hotel room which took forever to find because the Hotel was set up kinda like the belt way system. We decided to shower up, put our same clothes back on because we didn't plan on staying an extra night and we went to the bar in the lobby. We drank our asses off and paid the ninety dollar bar tab. If you don't believe me you can check Brian's credit card bill. Once the bar was closed we headed to our room and crashed. At least that's the story you all are getting. I would go into detail about what happened after the bar closed but I wish not to incriminate myself and my other band mates. We did finally go to sleep and we woke up at 7:00 I mean 11:00. We wanted to wake up at 7 but that didn't happen for some reason. We headed to the mall to get some clothes to wear. As soon as we got out the front door of the Hotel there was Bobby and at that point I knew the day was going to be good. We talked to him about our adventure to find u-bolts, laughed a little and agreed to meet back up later to fix the trailer. So off we went to the mall with plans of getting new clothes, tooth brushes, deodorent and other various items. However, when we got there we found out that it doesn't open until noon. So off we went back to the hotel room to shower, gather our stuff and check out before that sorry excuse for a hotel charged us another ninety bucks. So again we shower and put back on our dirty clothes and off we go to the mall. After we got done buying all our stuff we met back up with Bobby and fixed the trailer. We said our goodbyes to Bobby and headed for the car wash to take a shower and get into our new clothes. That was funny!!! We bought some shampoo from the convienence store across the street. We hosed each other down lathered up rinsed and put on our new clothes. Kids don't try this cuz it does hurt. Then we went to IHOP to eat and then we went home.
